IPOH, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- The arrival of an Orang Asli teenager in a serious bleeding condition at a clinic led to the discovery of a baby’s body in RPS Kemar, Gerik.
Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the police received a call from staff of the RPS Kemar Health Clinic at about 5.30 pm regarding the incident.
He said that after examination by the clinic, the 18-year-old admitted she had just given birth.
“She delivered the baby alone at home and then disposed of the baby behind her house,” he said in a statement.
Noor Hisam said that following this, police conducted further investigations at the location and found the baby, who was confirmed dead.
The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth.
