Police On Trail Of Suspect In Murder At Jalan Horley In Ipoh

IPOH, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Police have mounted a search for a suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a man whose body was found in an alley near Jalan Horley here today.

Ipoh District Police Chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said police have identified the owner and driver of a bonded truck involved in the case.

"The incident was discovered around 6 am today when a hotel employee informed the police about the discovery of a fully clothed man lying at the location.

"An initial inspection found that the victim was in a pool of blood with serious injuries to the head and back, but no identification documents were found on the victim," he said in a statement today.

He added that an investigation of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage revealed that the victim was chased by a white bonded truck before a struggle ensued with the suspect around 4.24 am.

According to Abang Zainal Abidin, the victim then fell in front of the vehicle before being run over and left at the scene.

He said the autopsy conducted at the Forensic Department of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here found the cause of death due to head and chest injuries due to a road collision.

Abang Zainal Abidin said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
