Bukit Aman To Look Into Alleged Leaked JAC Meeting Minutes - IGP

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- Police have confirmed that they are looking into the alleged leaked minutes of a Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) meeting that went viral on social media after a police report was lodged regarding the matter.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the investigation is being handled by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Classifed Crimes Investigation Unit.

“The case is classified under Section 8 of the Officlal Secrets Act, SEction 203A of the PEnal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he said in a statement today.

The focus of the investigation is on the expose and spread of information internally and on social media, he said, adding that all competent witnesses would be called to assist investigations.

Mohd Khalid also advised the public not to reveal any classified documents or information as those involved would face stern action.

The alleged leaked minutes are purportedly from a JAC meeting that took place in May, and was believed to have originated from Reddit before it went viral on Facebook and X yesterday.
