CCC-ECRL HONOURS 20 LOCAL VENDORS WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 

KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) -- China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd (CCC-ECRL) has honoured 20 local vendors, including consultants and subcontractors, with the Award of Excellence 2023.

In a statement, the company said the fourth edition of this award highlights the impressive skills and achievements of local construction industry professionals across a range of areas, including health, safety, and environment management, quality management, project management, and resource allocation.

CCC-ECRL managing director Kong Qi said this award symbolises appreciation for their hard work and commitment and underscores the vital role they play in pathing the way for the smooth operation of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) in 2027.

“Their exceptional performance has not only advanced the project's objectives but has also set new standards for excellence in our industry,” he said.

The ECRL project, a 665-kilometre east coast railway national project from Kota Bharu, Kelantan, to Port Klang, Selangor, has achieved an overall progress of 64 per cent as of March 2024.

The company said this year marks the transition of the project from underground construction to aboveground construction.

To date, it said there are cumulatively about 2,000 subcontractors, suppliers and consultants participating in the ECRL project.

Among the award receivers are Segala Bestari Sdn Bhd, FLT Machinery Sdn Bhd, Huls Transmission Sdn Bhd and Pakatan Jurutera Pintar Sdn Bhd.

CCC-ECRL is the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning contractor of the ECRL project.
