PHNOM PENH, March 18 (Bernama) -- AirAsia Cambodia aims to achieve an 85 per cent load factor on its domestic flight operations to three destinations, namely Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, which are scheduled to commence on May 2, 2024.

AirAsia Aviation Group chief executive officer (CEO) Bo Lingam said AirAsia Cambodia aims to further stimulate the Cambodian aviation and tourism industries in line with the airline’s ASEAN expansion strategy.

“With AirAsia Cambodia, we will be utilising two A320 aircraft to all three destinations with daily flights.

“This is our expansion strategy whereby we aim to connect Cambodia to 700 million people across ASEAN with cheaper fares,” he told reporters after AirAsia Cambodia's 'Ready for Takeoff' launch here, today.

The event was graced by Cambodia's Permanent Secretary of State, His Excellency Chea Oun.

Meanwhile, AirAsia Cambodia CEO Vissoth Nam said AirAsia Cambodia will transform the way people travel in Cambodia and make air travel an integral part of the country's transportation network by offering great value fares, exceptional service, and strong connectivity starting with these three destinations.

“We are confident that AirAsia Cambodia will play a pivotal role in reshaping the country's aviation landscape, contributing to the local economy by providing jobs to locals and unconditionally supporting the Cambodian government’s aspirations for economic growth and tourism development,” he said.

AirAsia chief revenue management and network planning officer, Paul Carroll added that with Cambodia’s new network offerings, AirAsia aims to fly two million guests to and from Cambodia in years to come.

AirAsia’s vast international network links Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville to over 130 destinations across Asia and beyond such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia via its hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Bangkok, Thailand.

In conjunction with the launch, the airline started its 6,000 free seats campaign for the three routes, for travel between May 2, 2024 and March 29, 2025.
