FOCUS DYNAMICS ACQUIRES 12.9 PCT STAKE IN BRAHIM'S FOR RM7.3 MLN

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 -- Focus Dynamics Group Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Focus Dynamics Centre Sdn Bhd, has acquired shares representing 12.19 per cent equity interest in in-flight catering firm Brahim's Holdings Bhd through a direct business transaction for RM7.34 million.

The 28.8 million ordinary shares were purchased since Oct 7 at 25.5 sen per share.

"This acquisition, in line with Focus Dynamics' strategy to increase portfolio of food and beverages (F&B) assets, and revamp traditional business models to infuse them with digital technology, modern concepts and enhancing user experience, sees the company assume a stakeholding in Malaysia's largest central kitchen," it said in a statement today.

With its plans for digital cloud kitchen services, E-kitchen network and other flagship outlets, the company also sees this acquisition as the key step to establish a solid platform of operations to cater for its expansion and growth plans. 

Executive director Benson Tay Ben Seng said establishing cornerstone relationship with Brahim’s also opened the doors for an international trading network via airlines and in-flight catering services for Focus Dynamics’ brand of products. 

"We are excited with the direction, and we hope to be able to speed things up significantly with this association.

"Having access to the largest central kitchen in Kuala Lumpur and with a strong existing portfolio of clients, we will be able to turnkey a few concepts into operational viability far quicker than an organic approach," he said.

Brahim’s is the leading in-flight catering service provider, with its business spanning various verticals including logistics, storage, catering and restaurant services.

Its central kitchen, which is recognised as the world's largest halal central kitchen, caters for up to 60,000 meals per day.

Brahim’s closed today at 26 sen, up 2.5 sen.
