EROMMAN ONLINE PLATFORM TRAFFIC SURGES 200 PCT
KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 -- E-commerce platform eRomman, which connects Middle Eastern buyers with Southeast Asian products, has been experiencing a 200 per cent increase in its traffic.
This was prompted through online purchases by Middle Eastern citizens for their essentials following lockdowns imposed by governments.
eRomman, in a statement, said the surge in the e-commerce and online activity also helped sellers, mostly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in diversifying their customer-base demands, whose purchasing power were still strong despite having businesses and operations from China being halt.
"Now, there has been a five-fold growth of on-boarding sellers, with seven times more products are currently listed on eRomman," it said.
Even though lockdowns are currently enforced in the Middle Eastern countries, its services persist by navigating an alternative solution of operation during the pandemic.
eRomman could still deliver products needed by Middle Eastern customers and ship orders to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Egypt.
"In fact, we receive 10 times more orders now as a result that eRomman actually delivers the much needed supplies while other platforms are struggling to meet the demands.
"If there is one positive outcome out of this pandemic, it is that Malaysian sellers are becoming an alternative to supply the demand. And whoever ventures into global trading these days are reaping their benefits," it said.
