JEDDAH, April 30 (Bernama-SPA) -- Al-Ahli Saudi FC secured its spot in the AFC Champions League Elite final after a fiery 3-1 victory over rivals Al-Hilal on Tuesday at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah with over 50,000 fans in attendance, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Al-Ahli's Roberto Firmino found the net just nine minutes in, then teammate Ivan Toney doubled the lead in the 27th minute, before Al-Hilal managed to pull one back before half-time with a goal from Salem Al Dawsari in the 42nd minute.
Early in the second half, Al-Hilal was reduced to ten players after Koulibaly received a second yellow card. Just before the full-time whistle, Al-Ahli struck again with a goal from Feras Al-Buraikan in the seventh minute of stoppage time, sealing its victory.
With the decisive win, Al-Ahli will face the winner of tomorrow's semi-final between Al Nassr and Japan's Kawasaki Frontale at King Abdullah Sports City.
