Bdb Land To Develop Affordable Homes In Langkawi

LANGKAWI, May 22 (BERNAMA) -- Kumpulan Bina Darulaman Bhd (BDB) through its wholly owned subsidiary BDB Land Sdn Bhd (BDB Land) will develop affordable housing on a 6.83-hectare land in Kuah here.

BDB chairman Che Had Dhali said the project, called Aman Nusa, is expected to start at the end of this year and is expected to be fully completed in 2025 with an estimated gross development value of RM60.7 million.

"The Aman Nusa development will see the construction of 120 units of one-storey terrace houses and 27 units of two-storey office shops that are open to the public to own them.

"In addition, the BDB Group will also develop a total of 35 units of Rumah Kasih Rakyat, 12 units of Rumah Makmur Kedah, and nine units of Rumah Aman Kedah in the Aman Nusa project," he said in a statement here today.

Earlier today, the launch of the affordable housing project was officiated by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor at a hotel here.

In the meantime, Che Had said the BDB Group through another subsidiary, BDB Infra Sdn Bhd, had signed a share sale agreement with Gemi Puncak Sdn Bhd and Gemi Puncak Quarry Sdn Bhd on March 29, which saw the BDB Group become the owner of the largest granite quarry in Langkawi which has an area of ​​25.89 hectares.

In addition, the BDB Group already owns Darulaman Sanctuary which is an ecotourism area in Lubuk Semilang with an area of ​​91.45 hectares, Langkawi Art Box, The Langkawi Cultural Village which is a 1.61-hectare commercial development with 35 business units in Padang Mat Sirat and a 5.01-hectare land bank in Kuala Temoyong.
