Melaka Tyt Oratory 2023 Competition Contested In Five Categories

MELAKA, May 19 (Bernama) -- There will be five categories of competition in this year’s Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Cup Rukun Negara National Oratory Competition.

State Health, Human Resource and Unity Committee chairman Ngwe Hee Sem said the competition, now in its fourth year, is also open to everyone nationwide and registration is open from May 15 to July 28.

“The theme is Rukun Negara as a Principle of Unity for the Success and Stability of the People at the national level, also aims to give the community and the younger generation a better understanding of the role of Rukun Negara as the foundation of unity and identity in building a MADANI Malaysia.

“This can also promote people's understanding of the principles of the country's pillars," he said at a press conference here today.

The competition is organised by the office of the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka with the cooperation of the state government and the Ministry of National Unity.

Ngwe said the oratory competition is divided into five categories namely Public, Higher Learning Institution, Secondary School, Primary School and Non-Malay. 

He said the competition also has cash prizes worth a total of RM34,300 as well as trophies, books and certificates of participation for the runner-up, third-place winner and consolation prizes for two participants.

"Participants will be judged on the basis of video footage sent to the secretariat. Those who qualify will participate in the final competition on Sept 14," he said.
