Hypergear Malaysia Splash Dash Fun Run gathers more than 4,000 participants

SERDANG, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- The drizzle did not stop more than 4,000 Malaysians from experiencing #GoHyper Splash Dash 5km Fun Run organised by Hypergear Malaysia at Malaysian Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) here, today.

This fun-filled wet and wild splash event aimed to encourage participants to break the boundaries and run worry-free while passing through a series of fun water obstacles.

Hypergear Malaysia managing director Jack Lee Yu Wei told Bernama that the fun run focused on gathering Keluarga Malaysia under one roof after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Basically this initiative is very simple. Hypergear is a brand that encourages people to get out there to have fun under rain or shine. People already feel bored and do not have much chance to appreciate nature and the outdoor during the pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO).

“This is a perfect time for Hypergear to encourage Malaysians to get out there and spend more time with their family and to actually appreciate nature,” he said.

Apart from the fun element, Lee said part of the proceeds from the event would go to Team #KeluargaMalaysia to support their expenses for their expedition to Antarctica next year.

“Hypergear Malaysia fully supports the meaningful cause as Team #KeluargaMalaysia will be the first uniting trio to scale Vinson Massif, the highest mountain in Antarctica.

“We pledge to support Team #KeluargaMalaysia as we wish to see the future generations continue to carry the torch for a healthier and more connecting community,” he said.

Meanwhile, Team #KeluargaMalaysia, comprising T.Ravichandran or better known as Ravi Everest, Mohd Khairizal Mohd Khalif or Abang Polar and Ng Wei Siang, will participate in the expedition which is expected to start on Nov 2023 and end in Jan 2024.

Ravichandran said the expedition was divided into two stages, namely 1,000 km ski across the South Pole and climbing Vinson Massif which is 4,892 metres high.

"This expedition aims to bring a message to the world about the effects of global warming, which is very noticeable now,” he said.
