Bubbles O2 to expand its footprint in overseas market by next year

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- Bubbles O2 Sdn Bhd, the manufacturer of Bubbles O2 - Malaysia’s only naturally oxygenated mineral water, is planning to expand the brand’s footprint in international markets early next year.

Managing director Ain Azizah Arifin said her company will explore new markets such as the United States, Japan and the Middle East.

“As for now, Bubbles O2 is currently in Brunei, and we are looking to expand our international markets. Presently, we activated our company Bubbles O2 US to be a platform to export our products into the US market and other markets as well,” she told Bernama at the 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2022).

Ain Azizah noted that its products placed in Brunei’s market in 2021 contributed five per cent to the company's revenue.

The company aims to increase the contribution from the export segment by 20 to 30 per cent by 2025, in line with its five-year plan.

In 2021, Bubbles O2 has recorded a revenue of RM3.75 million through sales in the domestic segment.

“For the domestic market, we are targeting convenience stores like 7Eleven, LULU and some petrol stations such as Shell, BHP and Petron for our products in the near future,” she said.

On Sept 8, the company launched its new product -- BubblesO2 Flavoured Mineral Water.

She said the creation of this new product line followed her company’s desire to create a product that caters to customers who are looking for a healthier alternative to sugar-based flavoured water drinks as well as for those who have waited for a flavoured product based on Bubbles O2.

By expanding its current product offering into the flavoured mineral water segment, the company is able to capitalise on the expansion of the flavoured mineral water category as this sector accounts for a sizeable portion of the bottled water industry as well as following the current customer trends where customers are seen to have an increased preference for healthy drinks over carbonated soft drinks, she said.

At MIHAS 2022, Bubbles O2 signed a collaboration with AEON BiG Sdn Bhd to market the Bubbles O2 Flavoured Mineral Water at AEON Big outlets throughout the country.

She said the collaboration comes from the effort of both companies to enhance awareness and to educate Malaysian citizens about the various mineral water quality and functionality and the health drink segment.
