Siti Asiah Makes Up For 2012 SUKIPT Disappointment By Shooting Down Three Gold Medals

Last update: 10/02/2014

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Talented archer Siti Asiah Mahmud made up for last year's disappointment by gunning down three gold medals at the 2014 Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Games (SUKIPT) archery events that ended today.

Siti Asiah, a second year student at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), said her achievement this year far superceded what she had won in the 2012 SUKIPT.

"In the 2012 SUKIPT, I managed only one silver and a bronze but this time around my performance improved and I managed to win gold medals in the women's 70m, Olympic Round Individual Recurve and Recurve Mixed Team.

"I also won a silver medal through the women's Recurve Team event," she said at the Universiti Teknologi MARA Stadium (UiTM), here, today.

The 22-year-old who is majoring in Islamic Finance said her main focus and target in the SUKIPT was to qualify for the World University Championships (WUC) in Poland later this year.....
