Pahang Wins Charity Cup After Beating Lions Xii

KUANTAN, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- Pahang began its 2014 Malaysia League campaign by defeating Lions XII 1-0 in a charity match for the Sultan Ahmad Shah Cup at Darul Makmur Stadium here Friday night.

Both teams started slow and failed to score any goal in the first half.

However, the Tok Gajah squad were seen to have found their rhythm as early as in the fifth minute, but it was the visiting team which made the first goal attack through Muhammad Sufian Anuar in the 6th minute.

Coached by Ronald Smith, Pahang launched a counter attack through a powerful shot by Muhammad Azamuddin Mohd Akil in the 8th minute.

Pahang's imported striker Matias Ruben Conti, who was brought in in the 14th minute to replace Dickson Nwakaeme also failed to help the squad to get the first goal in the first half of the game.....
