Drug Addict Dies, 3 AADK Personnel Severely Injured In Accident

KUANTAN, Jan 20 (Bernama) -- A female drug addict was killed, while three National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) personnel were severely injured when the van they were travelling in skidded, overturned and plunged into a drain at KM 238 of the East Coast Expressway today.



Pahang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department head Supt Mohd Noor Yusof Ali said they were heading to the Narcotic Rehabilitation Centre in Bachok, Kelantan when the mishap occurred during heavy downpour at 2.15 pm.



He said the 36-year-old woman from Kuala Lumpur, who was arrested under Section 8 (3)(a) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983, died on the spot.



The three injured AADK personnel were Siti Dahlia Daud, 36, Murni Daud, 29, and Muhammad Noor Asyraf Mizlan, 32, who drove the van.



"The body was taken to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for post mortem," he said when contacted.
