KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- The people need to choose a party which is capable of forming a solid and stable administration, emphasised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak while commenting on Parti Keadilan Rakyat's (PKR) current internal crisis in Selangor.

The Umno President said the crisis signified that the conflict among party leaders was becoming increasingly serious.

"It looks like there's a serious split in the Selangor PKR leadership. Otherwise we won't hear of people resigning suddenly. I believe people can weigh the situation for themselves.

"A party which is capable of providing a solid and stable administration would inspire confidence within the country and abroad," he told reporters after chairing the Umno Supreme Council meeting at the Putra World Trade Centre here Friday.

Thursday, PKR strategy director Mohd Rafizi Ramli announced his resignation as chief executive of the Selangor state economic advisory office.

Asked if the crisis was due to problems faced by certain individuals within PKR's leadership, Najib responded that," It's up to each person to reach their own conclusion but it looks like the conflict is becoming serious."

On whether the situation would give Barisan Nasional (BN) the advantage to regain Selangor, he said BN was constantly working to succeed nationwide.

"As a party, we need to display our advantages as to why the people should select us. We need to display them until they are confident BN is the best choice.

"What's important is that we will continue to work, to ensure a strong and solid government, able to achieve the transformation which is proceeding well," he concluded.
