MOSCOW, Nov 7 (Bernama-TASS) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin focused on the trilateral Russia-United States-Ukraine talks in a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council and members of the Russian delegation to the talks, TASS reported.
"Trilateral talks on the Ukrainian issue will be held in the United Arab Emirates next week, on Tuesday," Putin said, as the Russian state news agency reported.
"Bearing in mind that the talks are scheduled for Tuesday, I have invited colleagues who will take part in these talks. Let us briefly discuss this topic."
Among those invited to the meeting, along with Russian Security Council members, were presidential aides Vladimir Medinsky, who will lead the Russian delegation to the talks, and Yury Ushakov.
Also invited were Deputy Foreign Ministers Mikhail Galuzin and Sergey Ryabkov; chief of the General Staff’s Main Intelligence Directorate Igor Kostyukov; and deputy chief of the General Staff’s Main Operational Directorate Yury Zhigarlovsky.
State media reported the talks would last two days.
United States Special Envoy Steve Witkoff previously said the parties intend to discuss security guarantees, de-escalation, humanitarian issues, and further steps toward a peaceful settlement.
