GEORGE TOWN, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Digital Ministry has allocated RM100,000 to upgrade the infrastructure and facilities of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Jalan Residensi here through the MADANI Adopted School Programme (SAM).

The Digital Ministry said in a release today that the allocation was utilised to provide a more conducive environment for the school community, including the installation of fixed and portable public address (PA) systems, air conditioners, ceiling fans, whiteboards, and notice boards.

"Additionally, the funds were used for constructing zinc awning roofs at the art room and ablution area, alongside building tiled concrete sinks for the comfort of all school residents," the statement read today.

The handover ceremony for the Digital Ministry's SAM initiative was officiated by Personal Data Protection Department Director-General Shariffah Rashidah Syed Othman, representing the Secretary-General of the Digital Ministry.

The handover took place concurrently with the school-level Children's Day celebration, which was highlighted by artificial intelligence (AI) technology exploration sessions and digital literacy awareness hosted by the Biji-biji Initiative and AI Malaysia Berhad.

The Digital Ministry added that alongside a colouring contest, these interactive activities aims to provide students with opportunities to explore the digital world, thereby fostering digital literacy from a young age.

The statement noted that the delivery of this initiative reflects the MADANI Government’s commitment to addressing local community needs - particularly in ensuring a conducive learning environment and exposing students to contemporary digital technologies.
