TFC Want To End Winless Streak In Sabah

KUALA NERUS, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Mohd Nafuzi Zain has urged his squad to bounce back and secure a victory in their Super League clash against Sabah FC at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu, tomorrow evening.

The Kelantan-born coach acknowledged the difficulty of the task but stressed that his players must strive to bring home three valuable points, thereby ending a four-match winless streak.

He noted that a win is achievable if the team plays cohesively, adheres to the game plan, and capitalises on scoring opportunities.

"Preparations are proceeding as usual. We must strive to secure three points. It has been a long time since our last win. Naturally, this puts pressure on the coach, but I view it as part of the job's challenges.

"The important thing is not to give up, we must keep pushing, improving the quality of our play and every other aspect. Perhaps our previous efforts weren't enough, so the players need to give more to ensure a victory," he said when met during a training session at Gong Badak Sports Complex here.

At the same time, the former national Under-23 (U-23) squad coach reminded his players to avoid making simple errors.

Nafuzi said all players are in good condition and available for selection, with the exception of Manuel Ott and Victor Ruiz, who are both nursing leg injuries.

"Sabah can be considered a complete team this season, possessing a balanced strength across all positions. Playing on their home turf, I expect them to fight tooth and nail to secure those three points.

"I observed an improvement in the (TFC) players during our recent match against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT). I hope that same spirit will be carried into tomorrow evening's match," he said.

TFC currently sit in eighth place in the league, having collected only five points from five matches, while Sabah are in fifth place with seven points from five matches.
