KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- A total of 329,414 teachers have received training in artificial intelligence (AI) to date, while 27 pilot AI-powered classrooms have been established to strengthen the integration of this technology into the national education system.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek saId this initiative is part of the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) ongoing commitment to ensure that educators are prepared to navigate the digital ecosystem in an ethical and controlled manner through the DELIMa 2.0 platform.
She added that exposure to AI will continue until training has been completed for all teachers.
“At the same time, 1.5 million students have been exposed to the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), programming, robotics, and digital innovation.
“For students in remote and rural areas facing digital challenges, we have introduced offline learning methods to ensure that training can continue without being hindered by internet access issues,” she said during the Ministers’ Question Time session in the Dewan Rakyat today.
She was responding to a question from Mohd Nazri Abu Hassan (PN-Merbok) regarding the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) plans to integrate AI literacy into the school syllabus through an AI Literacy Guide covering aspects such as teacher training, the provision of digital facilities, and the development of young talent.

“Children must learn to verify facts, question dubious answers, and exercise sound judgment,” she said.
Regarding interventions, Fadhlina explained that focus is placed on early classroom-based interventions by teachers, complemented by the Learning Intervention Council and support initiatives such as the ‘Program Anak Kita’ , which is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance.
