KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- The Suria KLCC Group invites shoppers to experience a royal-themed Deepavali celebration at Suria KLCC, Alamanda Shopping Centre and Mesra Mall, featuring palace-inspired decorations, traditional performances and festive shopping rewards.
The celebrations began on Oct 23 ahead of Deepavali on Nov 8 and will run until Nov 11 at Suria KLCC, Nov 9 at Alamanda and Nov 10 at Mesra Mall.
Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd executive director and chief executive officer Francis Tan said the group wanted to create a welcoming atmosphere that reflected Malaysia's Deepavali spirit.
“Deepavali in Malaysia has always been about the open house. The door is open, there’s food on the table and everyone is welcome. That’s the feeling we wanted to bring to our malls. A palace courtyard is where guests are received, so we’ve built one for our shoppers and visitors,” he said in a statement.
At Suria KLCC, the Centre Court features an Indian Palace Courtyard inspired by traditional royal Indian architecture. It includes a pair of 10-foot peacocks framing the entrance, an LED screen, water features, and a Grand Pavilion adorned with golden latticework and vibrant silk accents.
For a more hands-on celebration, Flaaah's Kolam Tart Decorating Workshop on Oct 31 and Nov 1, 8 and 9 invites participants to decorate Flaaah’s limited-edition Masala Chai Custard Tart with colourful kolam-inspired patterns. Participants can then visit the Flaaah outlet to enjoy an exclusive 20 per cent discount on a full box of tarts.
Meanwhile, the Pleines Natures: Paper Bouquet Workshop by Yves Rocher, scheduled for Oct 31 and Nov 1, 7 and 8, lets visitors create paper card bouquets and experience the brand’s latest fragrance from the Pleines Natures collection.
Shoppers who spend RM1,000 or more in two receipts at Suria KLCC will receive a RM50 shopping e-voucher, limited to the first 300 redemptions. The first 20 shoppers who purchase RM1,000 worth of Suria KLCC shopping e-vouchers will receive an additional RM100 e-voucher.
At Alamanda Shopping Centre in Putrajaya, a colourful kolam illuminated by traditional lamps and a festive arch will create a vibrant setting for the celebrations.
The mall will also continue its mental health awareness initiative through the Green Ribbon Pin Sale. Proceeds from each RM10 pin sold go directly to mental health non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Under Alamanda’s festive rewards programme, shoppers who spend RM500 or more in up to two receipts will receive a RM30 e-voucher and two scented candles. Those spending RM1,500 or more will receive RM80 in e-vouchers and two scented candles.
Meanwhile, Mesra Mall in Kemasik, Terengganu, will feature an Indian Palace Courtyard-inspired setting from Nov 1 to 10, incorporating traditional motifs, floral arrangements, vibrant colours and warm lighting.
The first 100 shoppers who spend RM350 or more in two receipts will be eligible to redeem a RM30 Mesra Mall shopping voucher.
