Calvin Khiu Appointed Visiting Professor At JUC

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Founder and chairman of OE EduGroup, Datuk Wira Dr Calvin Khiu, has been appointed visiting professor of Entrepreneurship at Jesselton University College (JUC), effective Oct 25.

JUC president and Board of Governors chairman Prof Datuk Dr Fred Y. F. Chin said the appointment aims to integrate Khiu's extensive experience in business management and entrepreneurship development into the higher education system more systematically, thereby bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world business practice.

"We hope he can share first-hand experience in entrepreneurial decision-making, organisational management, and business growth directly with our master's and doctoral students.

"Through this sharing, students will have the opportunity to understand the realities of operating a business beyond their academic learning," he said in a statement.

Chin also described the appointment as reflecting efforts to broaden entrepreneurship education beyond concepts and theoretical frameworks to include real-market assessments, strategic decision-making, and organisational management challenges.

He said in addition to strengthening theoretical knowledge and research skills, students will gain exposure to how entrepreneurs navigate changes, make critical decisions, and plan business growth.

The statement added that Khiu, with extensive experience in entrepreneurship education and the corporate world, is expected to share his experience running businesses and systematic approaches to entrepreneurship development.

It further added that the sharing aims to help students build a more comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship and business management, complementing their existing academic foundation.

"JUC and Khiu also share a vision to combine higher education resources with real-world business perspectives to provide a more practical learning pathway for the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders.

"This approach is expected to help translate classroom knowledge and ideas into application and practice within real business environments," the statement said.
