WASHINGTON, Oct 27 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Dozens of hospitals and clinics in New Mexico, southwestern United States (US), have been affected by a cybersecurity issue, with ambulances diverted to other hospitals, according to the press service of the University of New Mexico (UNM) Health System, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
“The University of New Mexico Health System is experiencing a cybersecurity issue at this time. UNM Health officials are actively working to resolve this issue. Currently, all ambulance traffic is being diverted to other hospitals and all appointments at all clinics today have been cancelled,” the press service said.
The health system advised patients to call 911 in emergencies and postpone seeking care for non-emergency conditions until further notice.
The UNM Health System operates more than 30 facilities and handles about 22,000 surgical cases and 100,000 emergency room visits annually.
