IPOH, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- The Larut Matang and Selama district recovered fully today from the recent floods after the 54 people from 14 families remaining at a relief centre returned to their homes.
The Perak State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said in a statement that floodwaters had fully receded in Kampung Matang Pasir and Kampung Matang Gelugor, allowing evacuees housed at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Matang Gelugor to return home at 2 pm.
Meanwhile, 37 people from 14 families are still taking shelter at the SK Matang relief centre following a storm that affected residents in Kampung Changkat Baru Matang, Kampung Teluk Kertam, Kampung Melawati and Kampung Hujung Matang.
