KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect the country until 6 pm.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a warning issued at 3.15 pm, said adverse weather conditions are forecast to affect the whole of Perlis, Kedah, penang, Perak, Selangor, Melaka and Johor, as well as Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
The same conditions are expected in several areas in Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun, Kemaman, Besut and Setiu); Kelantan (Gua Musang, Jeli, Tanah Merah and Pasir Mas); Pahang (Bentong, Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan, Rompin and Maran) and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau, Kuala Pilah and Tampin).
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the affected areas forecast to be affected are Kuching, Samarahan, Serian (Serian and Siburan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau), Kapit (Song), Miri and Limbang.
In Sabah, the warning covers Tawau; Kunak; Lahad Datu; the West Coast (Kota Belud, Putatan, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Papar); the Interior (Beaufort, Sipitang, Tambunan and Membakut); Kudat (Kota Marudu); and Sandakan (Kinabatangan).
