J&T Express, Asia Aero Network Extend Air Cargo Partnership To 2030

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- J&T Express Malaysia and Asia Aero Network have extended their air cargo charter partnership until 2030 under an agreement signed today.

J&T Express Malaysia chief executive officer Vincent Low said the agreement would strengthen cooperation in providing reliable and efficient air cargo services, particularly between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

“From January to September this year, our air transportation capacity grew by more than 15 per cent. This gives us greater flexibility to support the growing demand for our logistics services,” he said in a statement.

Since launching air cargo operations in January 2026, the two companies have completed more than 300 charter flights, transporting over 6,300 tonnes of cargo between Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

Low said the partnership had also improved transportation performance during peak periods, with transit times during Ramadan 2026 reduced by about five to six hours compared with the previous year.

With daily air cargo requirements expected to reach 250 to 300 tonnes in the coming years, he said the partnership would strengthen J&T Express Malaysia’s air freight capabilities and support its broader regional logistics network.

Meanwhile, Asia Aero Network chief executive officer Iman Marco said the agreement reflected both parties’ shared commitment to building a long-term business relationship.

“For Asia Aero Network, it provides an opportunity to plan closely with our customer and support their cargo requirements with consistent, reliable service. Our priority now is execution and earning that trust every day,” he said.

The agreement establishes a framework for both parties to expand their cooperation in air cargo charter services and explore additional business opportunities in Malaysia and the ASEAN region.
