KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- The Japan Analytical Instruments Manufacturers’ Association (JAIMA), in cooperation with the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Japanese research institutions and government agencies, will hold its first joint symposium in Malaysia on Nov 4.
Themed “Green Technology”, the symposium will explore local social and environmental challenges through analytical instruments and measurement technologies, showcasing research, technologies and initiatives by Japanese and Malaysian institutions and companies to support a decarbonised society.
According to JAIMA in a statement, the event will also promote knowledge exchange and collaborative solutions as Malaysia advances its green transformation (GX) initiatives toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The symposium will feature academic lectures by researchers from Hokkaido University in Japan on green biotechnology for sustainable nitrogen and carbon management; Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) on green-synthesised nanomaterials for environmental remediation; and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on lightweight engineering for a greener future.
Technical presentations will also be delivered by Chitose Laboratory Corporation representative Yosuke Kataoka and JAIMA member companies, which will showcase their products and solutions for green technology.
The event will be held in a hybrid format at Dewan Seminar, Level 1, Anjung Menara Razak, UTM Kuala Lumpur Campus, with online participation available via Zoom. The symposium will be conducted in English, with on-site attendance limited to 100 participants.
Participation is free, and on-site attendees will be provided with a networking lunch. An optional tour of MJIIT’s laboratories is also available at no charge, but advance registration is required. Places are limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
