INDONESIA 

1.PRABOWO LAUNCHES FIRST EV BATTERY EXPORT FROM INDONESIA -- ANTARA

President Prabowo Subianto launched Indonesia's first export shipment of electric vehicle batteries in Central Halmahera, North Maluku, describing the milestone as a tangible result of the country's natural resource downstreaming policy.  

2.INDONESIA DEPORTS THAI FUGITIVE WANTED IN CORRUPTION CASE -- ANTARA

The Directorate General of Immigration at Indonesia's Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs, in collaboration with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), has deported a Thai corruption fugitive identified as PV.

 

 

LAOS

1.LAOS EV IMPORTS SURGE 107 per cent -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Laos imported 8,330 electric vehicles in the first eight months, up 107 percent from a year earlier. It aims to tap abundant hydropower to cut reliance on imported fuel and ease pressure on foreign currency reserves.

2.STATE CHASES US$313M CORRUPTION LOSSES -- VIENTIANE TIMES

Authorities are pursuing corruption cases that caused losses of about US$313 million (RM1.3 billion) over nine months. The case involves state enterprise employees, Lao citizens and a foreigner.

 

 

MYANMAR

Myanmar and Malaysia aim to strengthen cooperation in defence and security, including efforts to combat online scams and gambling, human trafficking, narcotic drugs and transnational crime.

 The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday night said it is facilitating and monitoring the emergency medical evacuation of one naval personnel aboard the BRP Sierra Madre (LS-57) in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park in Quang Tri province released 17 wild animals into their natural habitat on October 8, including macaques, slow lorises, hornbills, goshawks, eagle, langur and  pangolin.
