TH RCI Report Must Be Tabled To Clear Institution, Defend Muslims’ Dignity - Amirudin

MELAKA, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- The tabling of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) findings on Tabung Haji in Parliament is aimed at clearing the institution of wrongdoing and seeking justice in defence of the dignity of Muslims in the country, Pakatan Harapan (PH) Election Director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said.

The Selangor Menteri Besar said exposing the alleged misappropriation did not mean shaming the institution responsible for managing the affairs of pilgrims, as claimed by certain quarters, but was necessary to safeguard depositors’ trust.

“That is why we want this to be tabled, we want this to be debated, and we want those responsible to be brought to justice,” he said when speaking at the “Tabung Haji Scandal: Who Betrayed the Malay-Muslim Community?” ceramah at the PH Main Operations Room in Bukit Baru here tonight.

The PKR vice-president also reminded the people to choose transparent leaders who do not exploit racial issues merely to cling to political power.

Amirudin said shallow politics that manipulated public fears was increasingly being rejected by a society seeking clean governance and integrity.

“That is why there are new political coalitions at present because they know that when the people reject racial politics, they want to uplift the Malays and the nation with dignity, while rejecting those who are irresponsible.

“The politics of fear that some have used as a political tool is no longer effective, and they are no longer fit to lead the country today or in the future,” he said.
