Pahang Sultan Urges People To Pray For Rain, End To Open Burning In Kalimantan

KUANTAN, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has called on the people of Pahang and Malaysians to pray to Allah SWT for rain to help ease the haze currently affecting the country.

In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household of the Sultan of Pahang Maj Gen. (R) Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya said His Royal Highness also expressed hope that the communities and plantation companies in Kalimantan, Indonesia, would be made aware of the need to stop open burning activities that could contribute to air pollution and affect the health and well-being of people in the region.

He said Al-Sultan Abdullah decreed that efforts to address haze required the cooperation of all parties, as well as continued efforts to ensure the safety and health of the people remained protected.

“In this regard, His Royal Highness urges the people to continue praying to Allah SWT, while taking appropriate measures to cope with the prevailing haze.

“His Royal Highness also expressed hope that weather conditions would improve and that rain bringing blessings would fall in the near future, thereby helping to clear the air and reduce the effects of haze,” he said.
