LABUAN, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil today wrapped up a tightly packed working visit to this duty-free island, completing a series of official engagements and community programmes within a single day.
Fahmi’s programme began with the opening of the RM9 million Communications Ministry Complex here in the morning and Fahmi then proceeded with further engagements, including a programme at the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) in Kampung Sungai Labu, where he also attended an online meeting.
His working visit continued in the afternoon with the Ziarah Kasih programme before he presented a Tabung Kasih@HAWANA contribution to a local journalist who uses a prosthetic leg.
Despite the packed schedule, Fahmi completed the engagements before departing Labuan for Kota Kinabalu this evening.
The visit reflected the ministry’s continued engagement with stakeholders and the community in Labuan, with Fahmi taking the opportunity to meet local communities and review programmes implemented by agencies under the Communications Ministry.
Fahmi was accompanied by Ministry of Communications Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, Information Department Director-General Erwin Khairul Ahmad and Bernama Deputy Chief Editor Mohd Shukri Ishak.
