SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today received business tithe for 2025 amounting to RM41.72 million from five companies for the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
The five companies were Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Maybank Islamic Banking Group, Bank Rakyat and Rural Capital Sdn Bhd.
TH chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain handed over RM27.01 million in business tithe, making TH the largest corporate tithe contributor to Zakat Selangor this year.
TNB chief executive officer Datuk Shamsul Ahmad handed over RM5.60 million, while Group chief executive officer, Islamic Banking and Maybank Islamic Berhad chief executive officer Mohamad Yasin Abdullah handed over RM4.22 million.
Bank Rakyat chairman Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak handed over RM3.38 million, while Rural Capital Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Noor Hariri Mohamed Noor presented RM1.51 million.
All the business tithe payments were for the 2025 haul.
Also present were Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) chairman Datuk Salehuddin Saidin; Zakat Selangor chairman Tan Sri Syed Anwar Jamalullail; its deputy chairman Tan Sri Ambrin Buang; and chief executive officer Mohd Khaidzir Shahari.
