KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Top developers have been recognised at the 13th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia in partnership with iProperty, presented by Lim Soh & Goonting Advocates & Solicitors.
Guided by the theme "Defined by Excellence", this year’s awards recognised the country's best in real estate across 62 categories, honouring achievements across different real estate segments and regions, from township developers to breakthrough companies.
According to a statement, Timber Land Group won the evening’s top honour, Best Developer, marking its first-ever win in the category, in addition to Best Developer (East Malaysia).
Meanwhile, CPI Land was named Best Developer (Central Malaysia) alongside the award-winning project Tuan Straits, while Tanah Sutera took both Best Developer (Southern Malaysia) and Best Landed Homes Developer, supported by the winning project The Seed.
JLand Group, named Best Township Developer, collected the most awards of any company, covering Developer, Development and Design categories for projects including Arena Larkin, Bandar Tiram and Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC) – Aspiration Park.
The awards also recognised notable figures in Malaysian real estate, with Sunway Group founder and chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah, receiving the Life Achievement Award, while Sime Darby Property group managing director and chief executive officer, Datuk Seri Azmir Merican, was named Real Estate Personality of the Year.
The Consumer Demand Award continued this year, recognising the property that captured the strongest genuine interest from Malaysian property seekers. Leisure Farm Resort by Mulpha International was named Most In-Demand Bungalow/Villa, in addition to winning Best Resort-Style Township Development.
This year, 15,383 votes were cast for developers that consumers in Malaysia admire and trust, with Berinda Group, Coronade Properties Sdn Bhd, CPI Land, Gunung Impian Development Sdn Bhd and JLand Group among the People's Choice Awards winners.
PropertyGuru.com.my and iProperty.com.my also presented several titles for the first time this year, with IIB Experience Centre (IIBEX) by Iskandar Investment Berhad receiving the inaugural Real Estate Ecosystem Catalyst Award.
The Consistency Excellence Awards also made their debut, recognising companies with consecutive years of wins. Gunung Impian Development Sdn Bhd won the 4-Year Consistency Excellence Award, while the 3-Year Consistency Excellence Awards were presented to Armani Group, Astaka Padu Sdn Bhd, Berinda Group and Coronade Properties Sdn Bhd, among others.
Winners may advance to the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, which recognises the Best in Asia, on Dec 11 at The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok.
