PUTRAJAYA, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) chief operating officer (COO) Nasiruddin Wan Idrus has confirmed that the 2026 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) will be his final outing with the team before he retires at the age of 60.
Nasiruddin, affectionately known as ‘Che Din’, explained that he decided to step down after 12 years of service to make way for new leadership within the Continental squad.
"Yes, I have made the decision to retire at the age of 60.
"After 12 years of serving TSG, the team and staff including the boss have brought about significant changes for TSG and the national cycling scene," he said here yesterday.
He noted that during his tenure, the East Coast-based squad successfully strengthened its brand regionally, earning recognition as one of Asia's cycling powerhouses.
According to him, TSG has maintained consistent performance, ranking among the top three Asian teams for 11 of its 16 years of existence and securing the Continental world title three times.
"The time has come for me to make way for the new generation to manage TSG. However, I will step in to help if needed, God willing," he said.
