KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has congratulated the entire Malaysian contingent on their proud achievements at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
In a Facebook post today, he said the success achieved not only brings glory to Malaysia on the Asian stage but also demonstrates the national athletes' ability to compete against the best athletes from across the region.
He noted that every medal won is the result of the national athletes' hard work, discipline, and fighting spirit.
“I also extend my appreciation to the coaches, team officials, and all parties who have consistently supported the national contingent.
“Keep fighting and moving forward with confidence. Every drop of sweat shed for the 'Jalur Gemilang' (national flag) is a source of pride for all Malaysians,” he said.
The Malaysian contingent concluded their campaign at the 20th Asian Games with a haul of nine gold, seven silver, and 16 bronze medals.
The gold medals were contributed through squash, karate, e-sports, sepak takraw, and track cycling events.
