MYEG, Zetrix AI Suspended Over RM314 Million Arrears, No Political Motive - Anthony Loke

05/10/2026 02:45 PM

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The services of MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd, under MYEG Group, as government revenue collection agents were suspended because they failed to transfer to the government the RM314 million revenue collected between May 19 and Sept 30, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.

He said the government took action after the companies failed to settle the outstanding amount despite receiving 35 reminders and being engaged by the authorities since May.

Loke said MYEG had issued a cheque for RM231 million dated Sept 30, but the payment could not be processed by the bank following instructions from the company itself.

“Therefore, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) had to take the drastic step of suspending payment services through MyEG and Zetrix AI from today (Oct 5),” he told a press conference today.

Loke also stressed that the action was not influenced by the company’s ownership or links to any party.

“I treat every company, every agent the same. Which party it is linked to is not our consideration. The fact is there are outstanding payments and obligations to the government that have not been fulfilled, and action must be taken,” he said.

The minister also denied a newspaper report that the arrears had accumulated over three years.

“There had previously been occasional delays, but MYEG settled the arrears after receiving reminders.

“The RM314 million that remains unpaid dates from May this year, just a few months ago, not three years,” he said.

Loke said MYEG would remain suspended as a revenue collection agent until the arrears were settled, while legal action would also be pursued.

“The government takes any failure in the management and transfer of public revenue seriously and will not compromise with any party that fails to fulfil its responsibilities involving government funds.

“We will refer the matter to the MOF (Ministry of Finance) and other central agencies on the next course of action as far as civil action is concerned. But this is already something which is not only a contractual obligation, but against the law, because they are collecting the money on behalf of the government,” he said.

MYEG has been a JPJ collection agent since 2000, handling services including motor vehicle licence renewals, vehicle ownership transfers, Malaysian driving licence services and electronic summons payments.

As a collection agent, it is required to transfer government revenue daily, within one working day of each transaction.
