TNG Digital, Webull Malaysia Partner To Bring Global Share Trading To TNG eWallet

PETALING JAYA, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- TNG Digital Sdn Bhd and Webull Securities (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd have partnered to introduce global share trading through GOfinance in TNG eWallet, giving eligible Malaysians access to the United States, Hong Kong and China A-share markets.

Webull Securities (Malaysia) is the Malaysian subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed Webull Corporation.

TNG Digital chief financial services officer Desmond Teoh said the collaboration expands the range of financial services available through GOfinance by allowing users to access overseas investments through an application they already use for everyday payments and other financial services.

“Our aim with GOfinance is to bring more financial choices into an app Malaysians already use and know. 

“With Webull Malaysia, eligible users can take the next step into overseas share investing, starting with digital account opening and funding,” he said at the launching event here today.

Teoh added that the partnership combines TNG eWallet’s reach with Webull Malaysia’s specialist expertise, enabling the platform to support a wider range of financial needs beyond payments.

He contrasted the integrated digital process with his own experience buying his first US shares in 2009, when investors had to complete forms, undergo suitability assessments and wait for their banks to confirm transactions.

“Today, millions of Malaysians will be able to do this on their couch, finish this transaction, see whether the transaction is matched or not matched, perhaps before even the Netflix series intro is done,” he said.

Meanwhile, Webull Malaysia chief executive officer Kenneth Chan said the collaboration is intended to reduce the friction involved in getting started with investing, particularly for first-time investors.

He said requiring potential investors to download another application, undergo a new onboarding process and familiarise themselves with another interface could discourage them from taking their first step into investing.

“Another app to download, a new onboarding process all over again, an unfamiliar interface – those frictions were often enough to stop people before they even got started.

“So instead of asking people to come to us, we asked: What if we met them where they already are?” he said.

Chan said the Webull investing experience operates within TNG eWallet, without requiring users to download a separate Webull application.

He said users are still required to undergo electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification, although information from TNG eWallet can be pre-populated into the Webull account-opening process with the user’s consent.

“With your consent, we pull it into Webull, answer the relevant questions that you need, submit it in under five minutes, and your account will be approved in one to three business days, but technically it can be done within a day,” he said.

As of August 2026, GOfinance had 8.5 million users, with more than four million transacting monthly and 46 per cent holding more than one financial services product.

In conjunction with the launch, eligible users who access Webull Malaysia through GOfinance can receive RM30 worth of fractional shares in Apple Inc after depositing at least RM200 into their trading account and maintaining the deposit for at least 30 days, subject to terms and conditions.
