Mega Agro MADANI Sales @ Rompin To Be Held Oct 2-4

KUANTAN, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- The Mega Agro MADANI Sales (JAM) @ Rompin will offer discounts of up to 30 per cent on a wide range of agri-food products during the three-day programme at Pantai Hiburan, Rompin, from Oct 2 to 4.

Organised by the Pahang Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), the programme will feature 84 trading lots involving nearly 70 entrepreneurs offering agricultural produce and agri-food products directly to consumers.

Pahang FAMA director Rashiha Mamat said the programme would run from 10 am to 10 pm throughout the three days, with Pantai Hiburan selected for its popularity among visitors and availability of basic amenities, including toilets, a surau and parking facilities.

“Besides the sale of agri-food products, various activities have also been lined up, including a performance by singer Siti Nordiana, a fishing competition, Fun Walk, lucky draws and stage activities,” she told Bernama at the Pahang FAMA office here today.

Among the highlights are MADANI Combo Sales priced at RM10 and RM20, offering savings of up to RM10 per combo, as well as Happy Hour Sales at RM5 and RM10, with savings of up to RM25.

Rashiha said visitors could also purchase chicken at RM10 per bird, beef at RM30 per kilogramme and eggs with savings of up to RM2.50 per tray, in addition to fruits, vegetables and various products from the Agro-Food-based Industry (IMAT).

“Seedlings will also be available for sale, while free seedlings will be distributed to lucky visitors. The lucky draw will feature prizes including televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and electrical appliances,” she said.

The programme will also showcase Pahang Best products and popular food offerings such as Murtabak Makasar, Burger Tarik Cheese by Wanie Sidek, Puding Raja and Kopie Satu.

Other activities include colouring, cooking, agro-arrangement and Kahoot competitions, as well as the Eat Local Fruits and Vegetables campaign and exhibitions by government and private agencies.

Rashiha said JAM provided consumers with access to agri-food products at reasonable prices while creating additional market opportunities for entrepreneurs through direct sales.

She said the programme also helped reduce intermediaries in the supply chain between producers and consumers by involving participants from FAMA's development programmes in the sales activities.

Pahang FAMA is targeting 229 JAM programmes throughout the state from April to September this year, which are expected to benefit about 100,000 households.

Meanwhile, Rashiha said Rompin was selected as the venue based on FAMA reports and studies which found that prices of essential goods in the district were among the highest in Pahang, particularly chicken.

She urged residents of Pahang, especially those in Rompin and surrounding areas, to visit the programme and take advantage of the products offered at affordable prices.
