KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- A total of 66 international speakers from 17 countries will gather in the federal capital for the Annual Women Economic Forum (WEF) and G100 Global Meet 2026, scheduled from Oct 14 to 17 at the International Youth Centre (IYC).
The line-up of local and foreign speakers representing various sectors from countries including Slovenia, the United States, the Philippines and Australia was officially unveiled at the speakers’ launch and press conference today.
Among the prominent speakers featured are former Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Sepang International Circuit chairman Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz and Commissioner of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Sittie Aishah Baicon Cayongcat Nuska.
President of the G100 Global Club Datin Dr Hartini Osman, in her welcoming speech at the event, said the programme aims to reinforce the role of women as key drivers of economic and social growth while facilitating knowledge exchange, cross-border networking, business expansion and strategic partnerships.
Hartini, who is also the WEF ASEAN 2026 president, said the event is expected to serve as a platform to translate cross-border dialogues into actionable economic opportunities and meaningful global impact.
"This gathering brings together the spirit of WEF and the global leadership network of G100, creating a platform where women from different nations, sectors, generations and backgrounds can meet, exchange ideas and build meaningful partnerships," she said.
Themed “Powering the Future: Empowering Communities and Cultures of Care, Co-Existence, Creativity & Commerce Through Women-Led Development”, the four-day event will feature 25 comprehensive sessions including keynote speeches, plenary sessions, global policy dialogues, fireside chats, workshops and the G100 Global Meet Dialogue & Roundtable.
Several side events will also take place concurrently, including the Persatuan Usahawan Wawasan Wanita Malaysia (WAWASANITA) 30th Pearl Jubilee Gala and Awards on Oct 15, the “1 Day Transformation Lab” by Persatuan Semarak Cinta Kasih, and the 5KM Run for Hope on Oct 17, in conjunction with the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
Multiple strategic collaborations and Memoranda of Understanding are expected to be signed during the gathering, further strengthening the agenda for collaboration in the areas of women’s development, entrepreneurship, community, economic and social development.
