JAKARTA, Sept 25 (Bernama) – Hosts Indonesia opened their FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 campaign on a winning note after defeating Singapore 2-0 in their Division 1 Group A match at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium here tonight.
Ragnar Oratmangoen gave the Garuda the lead in the 13th minute before Ole Romeny sealed the victory from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.
Singapore were reduced to 10 men after Safuwan Baharudin was shown a red card in the 70th minute, with Indonesia capitalising on the numerical advantage four minutes later.
The result saw Indonesia collect three points, level with Malaysia, who earlier defeated Bangladesh 3-0 at the same venue.
Malaysia, however, sit top of Group A on goal difference, with Indonesia in second place.
Harimau Malaya will face Indonesia in their second group match at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on Monday.
