KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved an additional allocation of RM2.8 million this year to repair basic infrastructure at 14 Islamic education institutions across Kedah.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the allocation was to ensure students could study in a more comfortable and safe environment.
"The MADANI Government will continue to uphold the eminence of Islam by strengthening Islamic education institutions and fostering the study and understanding of hadith in society," he said in a Facebook post today.
In the same post, Anwar also announced a RM250,000 allocation to implement hadith-related programmes.
He said both allocations would be coordinated by the Kedah Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department (ICU JPM).
"Hopefully, this effort will benefit the students and continue to cultivate a culture of knowledge in society," he added.
