KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- Seeking to expand the reach of its halal products in Malaysia and international markets, the Philippines brought 12 companies offering halal-certified and export-ready products to the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026.
Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia Maria Angela A. Ponce said the country's participation in MIHAS reflected its commitment to developing a stronger and more competitive halal industry and creating greater opportunities for Philippine exporters in the global halal market.
"Malaysia is an important partner in this effort, and we look forward to strengthening cooperation that will enable more Philippine halal products to reach consumers in Malaysia and other international markets,” she said at the inauguration of the Philippine Pavilion on Wednesday.
The pavilion was organised by the Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) and the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre-Kuala Lumpur (PTIC-KL).
PTIC-KL said through its participation in MIHAS, the Philippines seeks to connect Philippine exporters with international buyers, distributors, retailers, and potential business partners, while promoting the country as a competitive and reliable source of high-quality halal products and a growing participant in the global halal value chain.
MIHAS 2026 is being held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from Sept 23 to 26.
