KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- Tourism Malaysia today launched three tourism offerings - Edu+ 2.0, EatVenture and Taste of Orchard, in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 campaign, featuring 118 experience-based packages and itineraries aimed at expanding domestic and international tourism options.

Its director-general Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim said the three offerings cater to specific tourist segments by integrating elements of education, gastronomy, agriculture, culture, nature and local community engagement.

The 118 packages comprise 29 Edu+ 2.0 packages, 23 EatVenture gastronomy packages and 66 Taste of Orchard agro-tourism packages.

“These are niche tourism offerings designed to cater to specific domestic and international tourist segments. They are also introduced in line with the government’s efforts to diversify tourism offerings and reduce reliance on conventional products,” he said at the launch ceremony at Saloma Kuala Lumpur here today.

Mohd Amirul Rizal said the expanded range of offerings would encourage repeat visitors to discover new attractions, explore more destinations and extend their stay in Malaysia

He said the packages provide immersive learning opportunities, with farmstay programmes allowing visitors to gain insights into tilapia farming, durian orchard management and traditional food preparation through hands-on activities at a single location.

Edu+ 2.0 offers international students short-term programmes to explore Malaysia’s culture and heritage while encouraging meaningful cultural exchanges.

The programme was developed through a strategic partnership between Tourism Malaysia and the National Association of Private Educational Institutions (NAPEI), with participation from education institutions, travel agencies, tourism operators and related industry players.

EatVenture showcases Malaysia’s diverse culinary heritage by highlighting local food, traditional dishes and activities centred on food culture.

Meanwhile, Taste of Orchard features agro-tourism offerings such as durian, Harumanis mangoes, cocoa, gula apong (palm sugar), empurau (a highly prized freshwater fish) and pineapple, while providing visitors with opportunities to explore orchards, agro-education sites, community-based tourism destinations and farms.

Mohd Amirul Rizal said the agro-tourism offerings could generate additional income opportunities for local communities, including farmers, homestay operators, tour guides, food entrepreneurs, craft players and micro and small businesses.

Information on the packages is available through Tourism Malaysia’s official promotional platforms.
