KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- A total of 13 areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) readings as of 5 pm today, with the Serian district police headquarters (IPD) recording the highest reading at 197.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, besides the Serian (IPD), other areas recording unhealthy API levels were Kuching (184), Samarahan (181), Sri Aman (176), Bintulu (174), Sibu (167) and Sarikei (165).
Unhealthy API readings were also recorded in Samalaju (164), Miri (161), Mukah (160), Miri Industrial Training Institute (ILP) (155), Limbang (153) and Kapit (120).
Meanwhile, 45 areas across the country recorded readings at a moderate level, while nine areas recorded good readings.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and above 300 (hazardous).
