AKM Expands Appreciation Of Malaysia MADANI Values Among Taxi Drivers

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- The Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) continues to broaden the appreciation of Malaysia MADANI values across various segments of society through community engagement, including among taxi drivers.

In a statement today, AKM said more than 100 taxi drivers in Sepang participated in a nation-building module under the ‘Aku Kasih Malaysia’ campaign, held in conjunction with the Sepang Taxi Drivers Association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Labu Lanjut.

The meeting, officiated by AKM director-general Datuk Dr Roslan Hussin, emphasised Malaysia MADANI values while raising awareness of the roles and responsibilities of individuals towards society and national development.

AKM said the involvement of the taxi driver community was significant as the group interacts directly with diverse segments of society, including local and international tourists.

Meanwhile, Sepang Taxi Association (Teks1m) spokeperson Mazlan Md Isa said taxi drivers not only provide transportation services but also represent the country's image through their interactions and services to passengers.

"Taxi drivers not only provide transportation services but also carry the image of Malaysia. In this context, we can play a role as mini ambassadors for the country through our interactions and the services we provide to the community.

"Our responsibility to the country must be translated through our roles and contributions as citizens," he said.
