KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Pintas Utama Sdn Bhd has donated nearly 30,000 shoe bags to Muassasah pilgrims nationwide for the 1447H/2026M Hajj season through the Tabung Haji (TH) Sahabat Haji programme.
Pintas Utama chief executive officer Datuk Marhalim Mohamed said the contribution is part of the company's ongoing efforts to help Muassasah pilgrims prepare before departing for Hajj.
“It is very meaningful for a company like Pintas Utama. Although modest, this contribution helps complete the pilgrims' preparations to some extent before they depart to perform the Hajj,” he said in a statement today.
He said the drawstring shoe bags were contributed to help pilgrims carry essential items and enhance their comfort and mobility during their time in the Holy Land.
The distribution was carried out in stages during the state-level Premier Hajj Course. In Selangor, it took place on April 11 at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, Shah Alam. In Pahang and Perak, it was held on April 4 at the Sultan Ahmad 1 Mosque and Sultan Azlan Shah Mosque respectively.
In other states, the bags were delivered to state TH branches for distribution to pilgrims based on their needs and management.
Pintas Utama's effort received recognition from the pilgrims fund board when it received the ‘Penghargaan Sahabat Haji TH’.
It received the award at the Hajj Operations Thanksgiving Ceremony and Penghargaan Sahabat Haji TH Musim Haji 1447H/2026M at Menara TH Tun Razak here today.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan, presented the award to Marhalim.
Pintas Utama began assisting Malaysian Hajj pilgrims in 2023. This year's contribution continues the company's commitment to supporting pilgrims' welfare and convenience.
The initiative is also part of Pintas Utama's efforts to benefit the community while contributing to the nation's infrastructure development.
