Melaka Implements 2,092 Programmes From 2025 To Sept 2026

MELAKA, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- Melaka has successfully implemented 2,092 major programmes organised by the state and Federal governments from 2025 to September 2026, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said the programmes attracted a cumulative attendance of about six million people through national-scale celebrations, tourism programmes, sports and cultural events, as well as outreach programmes that resonated with the people.

He said Melaka also became the focus of the world after being selected to host World Tourism Day and the World Tourism Conference, which brought together 155 delegations and attracted 40,000 visitors throughout the events.

"Melaka was also proud to receive the royal visit of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, as well as visits from the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, top national leadership, ambassadors, diplomats and international delegations from several countries.

"All of this carries a very clear message. Melaka today is not only a destination to be visited, but is increasingly becoming a meeting point for the nation and the world.

"When major events choose Melaka, the country's top leadership comes to Melaka and world delegations gather in Melaka, this is no coincidence. This is the reputation we have built together," he said.

He said this when speaking at the 2025/2026 Public Service Personnel Appreciation Ceremony at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh here tonight.

Also present were Melaka State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Ibrahim Durum and Melaka State Secretary Datuk Salhah Salleh.

He said the trust received from various parties to organise the programmes did not stem from publicity alone, but from the discipline, meticulousness and quality of work of the civil service.

"As a result of your extraordinary commitment and dedication, today Melaka shows that the people's satisfaction rate towards the delivery of the state public service in Phase 1 of 2026 jumped to 93.6 per cent compared to 87.82 per cent last year.

"For me, this is the true measure of 'Melaka Sayang Rakyat' (Melaka Loves the People). It is not just in the slogans we chant, but in the quality of service we return to the 1.05 million people of Melaka," he said.
