Scholarship Day 2026 In Melaka To Connect Students With Wider Sponsorship Opportunities - MOHE

MELAKA, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) is hosting Scholarship Day 2026 on Sept 26 and 27 at the Melaka State Youth and Sports Complex (KOMBES) in Ayer Keroh to raise students’ awareness of higher education sponsorship opportunities available in Malaysia.

Deputy Higher Education Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim said the programme was a new ministry initiative to ensure information on scholarship opportunities is disseminated more widely and remains easily accessible to current and prospective students.

“From time to time, we receive feedback that information about available scholarships does not always reach its intended audience.

“That is why MOHE has introduced this initiative to broaden and increase awareness of the scholarships available in the country,” he told reporters here.

Adam Adli said the programme would not be limited to government scholarships, but would also feature sponsorship opportunities offered by the private sector, giving students a wider range of options.

He said Scholarship Day 2026 would bring together more than 20 institutions, companies, foundations and agencies, as well as international sponsors from the United States, Japan, Hungary and Russia.

“Students can attend the event to obtain information firsthand and engage directly with the representatives present. Organisations such as the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), Khazanah Nasional Bhd, the Public Service Department (JPA) and Petronas will also participate.

“The primary objective is to bring various sponsoring agencies together under one roof, making it easier for students to access comprehensive information, explore a wide range of sponsorship opportunities and obtain direct advice on pursuing higher education,” he said.

He added that the Mobile University Central Unit (UPU) would operate face-to-face information counters to assist students with enquiries about admission to higher education institutions.

“We are setting up information counters where students can find out how merit scores are calculated, check their eligibility and obtain other relevant information, enabling them to make more informed choices,” he said.

The programme, themed “Nurturing Potential, Building a Legacy”, will also feature sponsorship exhibitions, face-to-face UPUOnline consultation services, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) skills demonstrations, and five talks on scholarships, sponsorships and higher education pathways.
