Kampung Angkat MADANIi: IBS Accelerates Reconstruction Of Surau Kg Tebat Kering

KUALA PILAH, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- The Industrialised Building System (IBS) technology used in the reconstruction of Surau Kampung Tebat Kering under the Communications Ministry’s Kampung Angkat MADANI (MADANI Adopted Village) initiative has shortened the construction period while providing more comfortable and safer facilities for local residents.

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the original surau, which was in a dilapidated condition, was demolished and replaced with a stronger new building equipped with safe electrical wiring and designed in compliance with safety standards.

“IBS enables the structure to be completed within a shorter period, thereby expediting the handover of the facility for daily use by local residents,” he said when officiating the 2025 Communications Ministry MADANI Adopted Village initiative at Surau Kampung Tebat Kering, Kuala Pilah, here.

Also present were Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, Kuala Pilah District Council president Nawal Mohamed Amin, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) deputy editor-in-chief (News Services) Mohd Shukri Ishak, and the ministry’s agencies’ top management.

Fahmi said the ministry had also implemented upgrading projects at Balai Raya Kampung Bukit Temensu and Kampung Tebat, with an allocation of nearly RM1 million, to provide more comfortable facilities for strengthening community ties and conducting community activities.

The reconstruction project of Surau Kampung Tebat Kering began with the site handover on Nov 27, 2025 and was fully completed on Sept 14, while the upgrading project for the community hall began on Oct 17, 2025 and was fully completed on Dec 26, 2025.

Meanwhile, he said Kuala Pilah as a whole had been selected across various government agencies to receive 12 MADANI Adopted Village projects since 2024, demonstrating the government’s continued commitment to developing rural infrastructure.

In another development, Fahmi reminded the public to remain vigilant against the growing threat of online scams.

He advised the public not to be easily deceived by social media content, particularly love scam tactics that use artificial intelligence (AI) or facial filters to gain victims’ trust and win them over before financially exploiting them.

In this regard, he urged victims of financial scams to immediately contact the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997 within 15 to 30 minutes of making a transaction.

Such swift action is important to enable Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and commercial banks to take the necessary measures to block the transfer of the funds before they are siphoned off by scam syndicates.
