GEORGE TOWN, Sept 19 (Bernama) -- The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has denied issuing a job vacancy advertisement that is currently circulating on social media platforms using the council’s name and identity.
It said the advertisement was fake and had not been officially issued or published by the council.
“Members of the public are advised not to believe or share the advertisement, or take any action based on its contents, including scanning the QR code or barcode provided.
“They are also reminded not to disclose personal or financial information, click on links or fill in any online forms linked to the fake advertisement,” it said in a statement today.
The council said information on job vacancies should be verified with its Human Capital Management Division by calling 04-2592115, 04-2592311 or 04-2592240.
“MBPP also urges the public not to reshare the advertisement and to contact the council directly through its official channels if they have any doubts about job vacancy notices bearing the MBPP name,” it said.
